Manchester City have issued a public apology after Manchester United
defender Rio Ferdinand was hit by an object at the end of an enthralling
Manchester derby.
Ferdinand was seen wiping blood from his face seconds after
celebrating Robin van Persie’s injury-time winning goal in United’s 3-2
victory at the Etihad Stadium.
The match ended in ugly scenes as a Manchester City fan ran on to the
